The 'low pressure area' formed over the Bay of Bengal may turn into a cyclonic storm by October 23 (Wednesday). The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) gave this information on Sunday. The cyclonic storm may affect the coasts of Odisha and West Bengal. The Meteorological Department and the local administration have advised fishermen to return from the sea coasts by Monday. 

Cyclonic storm named 'Dana'

The Meteorological Department has named this cyclone 'Dana' and with this the weather of many states will change significantly. The Meteorological Department has also issued a rain alert for many parts of the country. 

It can make landfall at this place

The exact location of the cyclone's landfall is not yet known. According to a report, this cyclone may landfall in Puri. The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) said that the cyclone formed over the North Andaman Sea and adjoining Bay of Bengal on Sunday has created a low pressure area over the east-central Bay of Bengal and adjoining North Andaman Sea. 

Cyclonic storm will arrive on Wednesday

The IMD said, 'This cyclone rising from the Bay of Bengal will move towards west-northwest and will intensify on Tuesday morning. It is very likely to turn into a cyclonic storm over the east-central Bay of Bengal by October 23, i.e. Wednesday. 

The effect of the storm will be seen on October 24

The weather department said that this storm is very likely to move in a northwest direction and reach the northwest Bay of Bengal near the coasts of Odisha and West Bengal by the morning of October 24. 

heavy rain alert

The Meteorological Department said that some places in the coastal region may receive 20 cm of rain on October 24-25. The intensity of the rain may increase from 20 to 30 cm. Due to the cyclonic storm, some places may receive more than 30 cm of rain.

There will be heavy rain in these districts of West Bengal

Due to the cyclone, a heavy rain alert has been issued in Cuttack, Nayagarh, Kandhamal and Gajapati. There is a possibility of heavy rain with thunder in these areas. Along with this, there is also a heavy rain alert in East Medinipur, West Medinipur, South 24 Parganas and North 24 Parganas of West Bengal. The Meteorological Department said that Kolkata, Howrah, Hooghly and Jhargram may receive heavy rain between October 23 and 24. Kolkata Meteorological Office said.
