In fact, according to the Meteorological Department, a cyclonic storm will arise from the Bay of Bengal on Wednesday, which is likely to hit the coast of Tamil Nadu in 2 days.

The Indian Meteorological Department has warned about a pressure area forming in the southern part of the Bay of Bengal, which may intensify further and turn into a storm in the coming time. The name of this storm will be 'Fengal'. Due to this, there is a possibility of heavy to very heavy rains in Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Andhra Pradesh. At the same time, there is also a possibility of strong winds in these areas.

 

The closed schools

The effect of this cyclone is being seen since Tuesday. It has been raining in many areas of Tamil Nadu since yesterday. Preparations have started to deal with cyclone Fengal. Schools have been closed in Trichy, Ramanathapuram, Nagapattinam, Cuddalore, Villupuram and Tiruvallur districts of Tamil Nadu.

 

Airlines issued advisory

Cyclone Fengal is expected to hit the Tamil Nadu coast today. Meanwhile, heavy rains are expected here. In view of this, Indigo Airlines issued a travel advisory on Tuesday night. According to this advisory, flights to and from Chennai, Tuticorin and Madurai are being affected, while Tiruchirapalli and Salem may also be affected now.

 

The storm will hit the coast of Tamil Nadu

The Meteorological Department said that the storm is likely to hit the coast of Tamil Nadu in 2 days. After this, heavy to very heavy rains are expected in these areas. Due to the impact of this storm, winds are expected to blow at a speed of 65 km/h to 75 km/h on the coasts of Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Sri Lanka from 27 to 29 November.

 

CM Stalin held a meeting

In view of the impact of Cyclone Fang, Tamil Nadu CM MK Stalin held a high-level meeting and directed to deploy 7 NDRF teams in Tiruvarur, Mayiladuthurai, Nagapattinam and Cuddalore districts.

 

Along with this, fishermen have been advised to stay away from the sea coast for three days. Fishermen have been advised to avoid going to the South-West Bay of Bengal, Sri Lanka and Tamil Nadu coast till November 29. At the same time, the fishermen who are present in the sea have been advised to move away from there immediately.
