Mumbai: The Maharashtra government has issued an order today declaring the cow as the mother of the state. The order states that the government has decided that the cow has significance in Indian culture since the Vedic period. The milk of the indigenous cow is suitable for human consumption. Considering the importance of Ayurveda treatment system, Panchgavya treatment system, and cow urine organic farming system, the cow is now being declared the mother of the state.
What is the importance of cow?
In India, cow is given the status of a mother and in Hinduism, it is worshipped. Apart from this, its milk, urine and dung are considered sacred and are used extensively. Cow's milk is very beneficial for the human body, while cow urine is claimed to cure many diseases.
Ayurveda says that feeding cow milk to children helps in their good development and children become of calm nature. In Hinduism, it is believed that all the gods and goddesses reside in the cow. In ancient history, Lord Krishna also served the cow. For a long time, a movement has been going on to declare the cow as the mother of the nation.
The matter of giving the status of Rajyamata to cow has come up at a time when cases of cow slaughter and cow smuggling are reported every day. State governments are vigilant about this matter, but such cases have not been curbed. In UP, 2 cases of cow slaughter have come to light today itself. In Unnao, the police shot Mehtab Alam, a cow killer. After the instructions of CM Yogi, strictness is being done in the entire state. At the same time, major action was taken in Mirzapur after receiving a complaint of cow slaughter. 10 policemen including the outpost in-charge have been suspended and an investigation is also being conducted against the SHO.
