The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has filed a chargesheet against two people on charges of spreading terror. Both of them are accused of allegedly spreading terror in Tamil Nadu and neighboring states and conspiring to establish Islamic Caliphate in India. According to the investigation conducted by the NIA, both the accused were actively involved in recruiting students in secret classes of the Hizb-ut-Tahrir (HUT) terrorist organization.
Allegations of conspiracy to commit terrorist acts
The NIA has filed a chargesheet in the special court in Poonamallee, Chennai, in connection with the investigation into the entire conspiracy. In the chargesheet, Abdul Rahman and Mujibur Rahman alias Altham Sahib have been booked under the BNS and Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA). Both have been accused of conspiring and preparing to carry out terrorist acts to promote Hizb-ut-Tahrir (HUT) ideology in Tamil Nadu and other places.
Showed the military power of Islamic countries
NIA has said in its statement that both the accused Abdul Rahman and Mujibur Rahman alias Altham Sahib had also organized classes of religious performances. Both of them had also made several short films on social media to promote the anti-India ideology of the organization. Both the accused had also organized an exhibition to show the military strength of Islamic countries. It was told in it that they would be called to overthrow the government of India with the help of jihad and war.
They also wanted to implement Sharia
NIA's investigation has revealed that both the accused had conspired with the officials of the organization to propagate the ideology. Its aim was to establish Islamic Caliphate in India. Along with this, they wanted to implement the draft of Sharia-based constitution written by Hizb-ut-Tahrir founder Taqi al-Din al-Nabhani.
