Chhattisgarh News: Nine Naxalites carrying a bounty of Rs 52 lakh on their heads have surrendered before the security forces in Chhattisgarh's Sukma district. Police officials said that nine Naxalites active in PLGA Battalion number one in Sukma district have surrendered before the security forces.

According to the police, active Naxalites from the district, Kalmu Mangadu (30), Madvi Budhri (25), Sameer alias Medium Sukka (22), Rajni alias Raje (20), Shanti Kawasi (18), Madkam Somdi (25), Nuppo Narsi (22), Madkam Hidme (21) and Nuppo Hungi (50), surrendered before senior security officials at the office of the Superintendent of Police in Sukma district.

The reward was of so many lakhs.
Police officials said that there was a reward of eight lakh rupees each on the heads of surrendered Naxalites Kalmu Mangadu, Sameer, female Naxalite Madvi Budhri, Rajni, Shanti and Madkam Somdi. They said that there was a reward of two lakh rupees on the head of female Naxalite Nuppo Narsi and one lakh rupees each on the heads of female Naxalite Madkam Hidme and Nuppo Hungi.

Officials said that influenced by the 'Niyad Nella Nar' (Your Good Village) scheme running in Sukma district and the increasing police influence due to continuous establishment of camps in the most sensitive interior areas, these Naxalites have surrendered before the security forces.

Rs 25,000 each was given.
He said that the surrendered Maoists were accused of being involved in major Naxal incidents in the district. These incidents include attacks on police teams and landmine explosions. Officials said that the surrendered Naxalites have been given a monetary help of Rs 25,000 each under the Chhattisgarh Naxalism Eradication and Rehabilitation Policy and they will also be provided other facilities under the rehabilitation policy.
