Himachal Pradesh News: Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu addressed a public meeting at Dadi Mela Ground in Dharamshala of Kangra district on Thursday. He also announced to build the country's largest international convention center near Tapovan at a cost of Rs 150 crore.
During this, Chief Minister Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu said that the Congress government has fulfilled its election promise by restoring the Old Pension Scheme (OPS) to 1.36 lakh government employees. As long as the Congress is in power, OPS will continue for government employees.
Is the central government putting pressure to implement UPS?
Chief Minister Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu said that the central government has cut the state's loan limit by Rs 1,600 crore. In view of the state government's decision to restore the old pension scheme, additional restrictions have been imposed on the state. Under the New Pension Scheme, about Rs 9,000 crore is still stuck with the central government. Now the central government is pressurizing the state to implement UPS.
CM Sukhu targets BJP
Chief Minister Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu said that the Congress government has adopted a zero tolerance policy on corruption. During the tenure of the previous BJP government, the gap between the rich and the poor had increased further. Government jobs were allegedly auctioned.
The police recruitment scam during the previous BJP government was a betrayal of the youth. His government is ensuring transparency. A serious inquiry has been initiated into the irregularities in the Theog subdivision of the Jal Shakti Department and strict action is being taken against corrupt practices. The BJP government misused the state treasury for political gains, while the Congress government is trying to benefit the common people.
CM Sukhu targets Dharamshala MLA
Chief Minister Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu said that the Congress government has taken decisions not for political gains but for the welfare of the people. He said that the MLA of Dharamshala betrayed the people and the party here.
He said that despite the defeat in the Dharamshala by-election, the Congress party has emerged stronger and the number of MLAs has increased to 40. Chief Minister Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu said that the Congress government is moving ahead with full strength and carrying out development.
