News Topical, Digital Desk : Anushka Sharma recently posted a post on her Instagram thanking the Indian Armed Forces and their families in view of the increasing tension between India and Pakistan. The actress thanked the Indian Army for their sacrifices to ensure the security of the country. Anushka Sharma is the daughter of Colonel (Retd) Ajay Kumar Sharma, who has served in every war since 1982, including Operation Bluestar and the Kargil War.
Anushka Sharma was 11 years old
Anushka Sharma was only 11 years old when her father fought against Pakistan in the Kargil War in 1999. In a conversation with ETimes in 2012, Anushka recalled how she was too young to understand the gravity of the situation. When her father would call home, he would talk to him about boyfriends and school. Anushka did not realise that he was in a war zone.
The actress said, "Kargil was a tough war. I was very young at that time, but I used to get scared looking at my mother. She used to keep the news channels on all day and would get upset when casualties were announced."
Anushka is very close to her father
Anushka said, "When my father used to call, he could not say much, but I used to keep talking about my school, boyfriend and everything else, without realizing that he is fighting a war." Anushka said, "I am proud to say that I am the daughter of an army officer more than being an actress." Anushka Sharma told that she is very close to her father
The actress wrote on her Instagram, "We are always grateful to the Indian Armed Forces as they protect us like heroes in the most difficult times. We are grateful for the sacrifices they and their families have made for us.
