Pushpak Express Train Accident: A rumour spread that the Pushpak Express was on fire at Paranda railway station in Jalgaon, Maharashtra, after which there was a stampede in the train. After this, the passengers jumped out of the train in fear and during this time, Karnataka Express was passing from the other track, which crushed the passengers. Many people are reported dead in this accident. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath expressed grief over this accident.
According to the information received from UP CMO, CM Yogi has expressed deep sorrow over the Pushpak train accident. CM Yogi said that the Pushpak train accident is extremely sad and heart-wrenching. CM Yogi has expressed condolences to the families of the deceased. CM Yogi said that the injured in this accident should be given proper treatment and CM Yogi wished for the speedy recovery of the injured.
Northeast Railway Lucknow Divisional Railway Manager Aditya Kumar said on the Jalgaon rail accident, "We have issued a helpline number. There is an emergency booth at Lucknow Junction, people can also get information there. Who spread the rumour and what kind of rumour it was, it will be known only after investigation."
According to the information, chain pulling happened in Pushpak Express going from Lucknow to Mumbai. It is not clear whether the reason for chain pulling was fire or a rumour. Passengers got down or jumped after chain pulling and came under the Karnataka Express.
On the Pushpak Express accident, Mumbai Central Railway CPRO Swapnil Neela said, near Pachora in Jalgaon, there was an incident of pulling the alarm chain in the Pushpak Express which was coming from Lucknow towards Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus. After this incident, some passengers got off the train and at the same time Karnataka Express was passing from there and was going in the opposite direction, we have come to know that some passengers have been hit by that train.
CPRO Swapnil Neela said that according to preliminary information, 7-8 passengers have been injured. We have taken the help of the local administration to take care of them. We have also sought help from nearby hospitals. Railway's accident relief medical van has also left from Bhusaval and it will reach the spot soon.
