Tata Motors made a big announcement after the market closed on Monday. The company said in an exchange filing that it has received an important contract to supply 1,000 Tata LPO 1618 diesel bus chassis from Uttar Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation (UPSRTC). Domestic vehicle manufacturer Tata said in an exchange filing that this order has been received through e-bidding under the government's official tender process.

Anand S, Vice President and Head of Tata Motors' Commercial Passenger Vehicle Business, said, "We have partnered with UPSRTC in their efforts to expand public transport. This partnership has already continued when it got expanded. The Tata LPO 1618 bus chassis is designed to provide robust and reliable with high uptime, as well as low maintenance and operational costs."

The delivery of these bus chassis will be done in different phases as per the terms mutually agreed upon by Tata Motors and UPSRTC. This latest order has been placed by Tata Motors after completing a larger contract for 1,350 bus chassis for UPSRTC. These orders are already operational. These vehicles have been instrumental in supporting UPSRTC's objective of expanding and improving public transport services across the state.

Tata Motors claims that its LPO 1618 chassis is designed to meet the demands of both inter-city and long-distance travel, offering strong performance, passenger comfort and low total cost of ownership in both urban and rural areas.
