A shocking incident took place on Friday in Bengaluru, the most developed city of Karnataka. Two children were allegedly strangled to death by one of their parents. Police gave this information. Police said that one child is seven years old and the other is three years old. The incident has been reported in Subramanyapura police station area.
The couple is originally from Jharkhand. Police are investigating the father and mother, who are from Jharkhand. The couple is blaming each other for killing the children. The children have been identified as seven-year-old Shubham and three-year-old Siya. Their mother has been admitted to the hospital due to neck injuries. The father, an auto driver, has been taken into custody by the police and is being questioned.
The couple is having a marital dispute
DCP South Division, Lokesh Jaglasar said that the murder of two children was reported on Thursday. Investigation so far in the initial stage has revealed that the children were strangulated to death with a rope. Now, contradictory claims are being made by both the parents as to who killed the children. A case of murder has been registered and all angles are being investigated. Currently, the mother is undergoing treatment for a cut injury on her neck. It is to be verified whether the injury is self-inflicted or by another person. Investigation has revealed that the immediate cause of the murder is that there were marital disputes between the couple.
At the time of the incident, only the wife was there; the husband came home later
According to the DCP, after the incident, which took place between 7 pm and 9.30 pm on Thursday, the matter was reported by the father, who took both the children and the mother to the hospital. They reached the hospital at 10.30 pm. CCTV footage available so far shows that the man came to know about the incident after he reached home, the DCP said, adding that he claimed that there was marital discord, frustration and depression that led to the incident and his wife committed the crime.
On the other hand, the woman claims that she has no role in the murders and has accused her husband of committing the murders. However, the police need to verify who was present at the spot based on the technical evidence collected from the crime scene.
The couple had come to Bangalore from Jharkhand only two months ago
He said that as per the evidence available so far, the mother was at the spot and the father came later. Still, we need to verify it from some more angles. The woman is a housewife. We are questioning both the parents. However, the woman is still undergoing treatment and the investigation has not progressed yet. She is not serious and doctors have said that there is no threat to life. Police said that they have come to Bengaluru from Jharkhand only two months ago.
