News Topical, Digital Desk : The body of a first-year National Defence Academy (NDA) cadet was found hanging in his hostel room at the tri-services training academy early Friday. Police suspect it may be a case of suicide. The NDA said a court of inquiry has been ordered into his death.
According to police, Cadet Antariksh Kumar Singh's classmates found him hanging from a noose in his room in the morning. No note was found at the scene, but preliminary investigations suggest a case of suicide, the police officer said.
Cadet dies in military hospital
The cadet was first seen by his fellow cadets. He was immediately rushed to the military hospital in Khadakwasla, where he was declared dead at 6.30 am, the NDA said in a statement.
The academy said the family and local police have been informed, and a court of inquiry has been ordered to determine the cause of the incident. "We extend our condolences to the bereaved family in this hour of grief," it said.
