Udhagamandalam: A five-month-old male tiger cub died after being hit by a vehicle in Tamil Nadu's Nilgiris district, a forest department official said on Friday. The identity of the vehicle was not immediately known, he said.
A forest department team found the carcass of the tiger cub at Mamaram on the Kotagiri-Mettupalayam road in the district on Thursday night. During the post-mortem, the cub's rib bones were found broken. The forest department is investigating the matter.
