New Delhi: In the case of NCP leader and former minister Baba Siddiqui murder, Mumbai Police Crime Branch has set up camp in Gandara village of Bahraich. The team is trying to find out the links of those living around arrested Dharampal Kashyap and absconding Shivanand alias Shiv Kumar Gautam with Lawrence Bishnoi gang.

The Crime Branch continued the search operation in Ujjain and Omkareshwar of Madhya Pradesh for the second day on Monday. Mumbai Police on Monday detained Harish, a youth from Gandara village and continued questioning him. According to sources, the police have got some evidence from him. The police is also searching the records of mobile numbers of the family and friends of the accused.

Police is looking for answers to these questions

It is being told that Harish had a business of buying junk in Pune. 19-year-old Shivkumar had gone to Harish in search of work, but when and how did he reach Mumbai and through whom did he come in contact with the Lawrence Bishnoi gang, the security agencies are trying to find the answer to this.

This is how the shooters identified the target

Police investigation has revealed that the entire conspiracy of the murder was hatched in Pune. Here the shooters were given an amount of Rs 50,000. Apart from this, Baba Siddiqui's photo and plex banner were also given. So that the shooters could easily identify their target. After this, the accused did a recce of Baba Siddiqui and executed the crime on 12 October.

Why did Mumbai Police go to Madhya Pradesh?

Additional Superintendent of Police City Ramanand Kushwaha said that Harish was injured in a road accident. He was staying in the village for the past several months. He said that Mumbai Police has questioned him, but what information have they got? He expressed ignorance about this. During interrogation of the two accused arrested in this case, it was revealed that after the murder, the three were going to meet in Omkareshwar or Ujjain in MP, so Mumbai Police has reached these cities in search of the third accused.

Police in search of Shivkumar

With the help of Ujjain police, searches were conducted at the railway station, bus stand, Bhairavgarh and Begambagh. Apart from this, the accused was searched in hotels, lodges and Dharamshalas. A team of Mumbai Crime Branch has also been camping in Omkareshwar for two days.

Police is looking for hotel bookings

The Crime Branch is looking for Shivkumar Gautam. Information about Indore Airport, railways and MP State Tourism Board's hotel bookings at the tourist island is also being collected. His photo has also been sent to nearby cities and police stations. Omkareshwar police station in-charge Anop Singh Scindia said that local police has also been deployed to help the Mumbai Crime Branch.
