 Kolkata. Voting for the fifth phase of Lok Sabha elections is underway. Voting is being held on 49 seats in eight states and union territories of the country on Monday. Voting is also being held on seven seats in West Bengal in this phase. During voting, BJP candidate and TMC workers clashed with each other in Barrackpore.

Arjun Singh, BJP candidate from Barrackpore Lok Sabha seat, accused TMC of not allowing its workers to come out to vote. According to news agency ANI, a heated argument broke out between the BJP candidate and a TMC worker over the issue and a heated argument broke out between the two.


Allegations of stopping women voters

BJP candidate Arjun Singh alleged that a TMC worker is scaring women and not allowing them to come out of their homes. He also blamed the police and said that they are not doing anything about it. Talking to the media, Arjun Singh said, 'Women voters are being stopped. The police is not doing anything. There is this man named Boney who is scaring people and not allowing them to come out of their homes. People are being stopped from voting. I have complained about this to the State Election Commission.'
