Delhi MCD Park News: Delhi BJP spokesperson Praveen Shankar Kapoor has written a letter to Mayor Dr. Shelly Oberoi and Municipal Corporation Commissioner Ashwani Kumar regarding the poor condition of MCD parks. In the letter, he has demanded allocation of at least Rs 100 crore for the maintenance of Delhi Municipal Corporation parks. It has been said in the letter that this allocation should be given in all three - horticulture, civil and electricity.

BJP spokesperson Praveen Shankar Kapoor said that out of about 15,400 parks of Delhi Municipal Corporation, more than 12000 parks have become barren. Their tubewell contracts have expired. Water is not available in the parks. He said that the condition of gardeners for park maintenance is so bad that only one gardener is available for four acres of park.

Regarding the broken and dangerous swings in MCD parks, Kapoor said that the parks are not being maintained due to lack of funds. The death of a child in Moti Nagar due to a broken swing is an example of this.

a haven for anti-social elements

The BJP spokesperson said that most of the municipal parks are plunged into darkness as soon as evening falls. Due to lack of funds, the electricity or high mast lights installed in them are not being renewed. As soon as evening falls, the municipal parks become the hideout of anti-social elements. He has demanded from Mayor Shaili Oberoi that these barren parks of the municipal corporation are now causing pollution to increase, whether intentionally or unintentionally. Dust keeps flying from them throughout the day. The Mayor and Municipal Commissioner should ensure funds for the Horticulture Department in the meeting on October 28.

AAP is responsible for this situation

The BJP leader has blamed the Aam Aadmi Party government for the poor condition of MCD parks. He said that the condition of Delhi Municipal Corporation parks deteriorated due to the policies of the AAP government.
