Tension in Chittagong

The deceased was identified as 32-year-old Saifullah Islam who was also a member of the Chittagong District Bar Association.
According to Bangladesh's website The Daily Star, after the arrest of Chinmay Das, seeing the situation deteriorating, police and Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) personnel lathi-charged the protesters to control the situation.

Bangladesh Police had arrested Saint Chinmay from Dhaka airport on charges of treason and disturbing communal harmony.
