Israel. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu held a weekly cabinet meeting in Jerusalem on Sunday. During this, weapons coming from America were discussed. Benjamin Netanyahu said in the meeting, America is stopping the supply of weapons. Netanyahu first said at the beginning of the meeting, about four months ago, there was a decrease in the weapons coming to Israel from America.

Benjamin further said, for many weeks, we requested our American friends to expedite the shipment. We did this repeatedly. We did this at the highest level. We got all kinds of clarifications from the US side but we still did not get what we needed. Some items came but the supply of weapons was stopped on a large scale.

Biden was afraid

Netanyahu has not said which weapons the US has. Netanyahu further said, in May, the Biden administration confirmed the delay in a shipment of 500-pound and 2,000-pound bombs because of fears they would be used in Rafah. Washington claims that all other weapons are being delivered.

The remarks came after Defense Minister Yoav Galant left for Washington on Saturday night to discuss the situations in Gaza and Lebanon and Iranian threats with senior US officials.

Netanyahu will address the joint session on July 24

Netanyahu is also scheduled to address a joint session of Congress on July 24. At the cabinet meeting, Netanyahu also announced the appointments of Major-Generals. There has been a long-standing tension between Israel and Gaza. At least 1,200 people were killed and 252 Israelis and foreigners were taken hostage in Hamas attacks on Israeli communities near the Gaza border on October 7. More than 30 of the 116 hostages are believed to be dead.
