• After cleaning the house, purify it by sprinkling Ganga water.
• Place the idol of Lord Ganesha and Shiv family on the stand .
• Apply tilak on the forehead of Lord Ganesha and offer garland of flowers.
• Now take a pledge to fast and worship Lord Ganesha by lighting a lamp of desi ghee.
• Perform the Aarti of Ganpati Bappa as per the rituals.
• Offer modaks and fruits.
• Pray for removal of obstacles in life.
• Recite the story.
• Distribute Prasad among the people.
