Meerut. Police arrested Akash Ahlawat, accused in the murder of restaurant owner Lakhan Jatav, from Gurugram. During interrogation, Akash told that his maternal uncle Vineet Malik had killed Lakhan. Vineet is absconding. Police have also taken Akash's sister Shivani and mother into custody.
27-year-old Lakhan Jatav, son of Veer Singh, a resident of village Pohli in Sardhana police station area, used to run a restaurant named Chatpata on Meerut-Karnal highway. On Wednesday morning, he went to meet his friends in Kankarkheda. After this, he did not return. Two days later, on Friday, Lakhan's body was found in the forest of village Jalalabad in Muradnagar police station of Ghaziabad.
A team is formed to catch Akash's brother
Lakhan's mother Brahmavati had filed a case against Akash Ahlawat, Sanjay Ahlawat, Ashish Ahlawat, Vineet Malik, Yatin Deshwal, Bittu Deshwal, Hrithik Deshwal in Kankarkheda police station. CO Suchita Singh said that a team has also been deployed to arrest Akash's brother Ashish.
