AAP Councillors Joined BJP: Political turmoil continues in Delhi in view of the assembly elections. Meanwhile, Aam Aadmi Party has suffered a major setback just before the elections. Two AAP councillors Ravindra Solanki and Narendra Girsa joined BJP on Friday (17 January). Solanki is a municipal councillor from Baprola and Girsa is a councillor from Mangalapuri.

Both the councillors joined BJP in the presence of Delhi BJP state president Virendra Sachdeva and West Delhi MP Kamaljit Sehrawat. Both the wards come under the constituency of Kamaljit Sehrawat.

What did BJP MP Kamaljeet Sehrawat say?

According to a PTI report, BJP MP Sehrawat said, "Both the councillors were among the founding members of the Aam Aadmi Party and were disillusioned with the politics and policies of the party's national convenor Arvind Kejriwal. Solanki and Girsa have not changed sides, Arvind Kejriwal has changed sides, due to which they were forced to leave the party."

BJP's manifesto for Delhi assembly elections

On the other hand, BJP released its Sankalp Patra-1 for the Delhi Assembly elections on Friday (January 17), which has many promises made keeping women at the center, including monthly assistance of Rs 2,500 and financial help of Rs 21,000 to pregnant women. The party has also promised to provide LPG cylinder for Rs 500 and pension of Rs 2,500 for senior citizens if it wins the assembly elections.

BJP has also announced that if it comes to power in Delhi, it will continue all the public welfare schemes being run by the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP)-led government and will implement them more effectively. Let us tell you that elections for the 70-member Delhi Assembly are going to be held on February 5. While the results will be declared on February 8.
