UP News: Priya Singh, a class 10 student, was murdered while she was sleeping at home in Nebua Naurangia police station area of Kushinagar district on Friday night. A police officer gave this information on Saturday. According to the police, masked people allegedly entered the house in Naukatola village and slit Priya's throat with a sharp weapon and attacked her father Jayanarayan Singh, injuring his hand.
Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP) Ritesh Kumar Singh said that the attackers fled when Jayanarayan raised an alarm. The police arrived shortly after and sent Priya's body for post-mortem. Singh said that a case was registered against three people on Saturday based on the complaint of the family. He said that three suspected accused Keshav Singh (48), Madan Singh (40) and Kishore Kushwaha (40) have been arrested.

According to the police, Priya, the youngest in the family, was at home with her father while other family members had gone out for Chhath Puja. Officials said that the police are trying to find out the reason behind the murder.
