News Topical, Digital Desk : Iran has warned the United States that it will make the US regret its actions. Iran said it will continue to tighten its grip on the Strait of Hormuz, which could send oil prices soaring.

The International Energy Agency (IEA) warned that the ongoing war in the Middle East could cause the biggest supply disruption in the history of the oil industry.

Despite the IEA's warning, US President Donald Trump wrote on social media, 'Defeating Iran's evil empire is more important than crude oil prices.'

Will set fire to oil and gas

According to a CNN report, US intelligence sources say Iran has begun laying sea mines in this waterway. Iran has threatened the US with setting fire to gas and oil passing through this route.

Iran said, 'As long as the US-Israeli attacks continue, not even a litre of oil will be able to go out.'

The Strait of Hormuz, which carries one-quarter of the world's seaborne oil trade and one-fifth of the world's liquefied natural gas (LNG), also passes through it. It is located off the coast of Iran.

Iran to completely close the Strait of Hormuz

"War is easy to start, but it can't be won with a few tweets. We won't back down until we make you regret this miscalculation," Iran's security chief, Ali Larijani, wrote on the social media platform X.

Mojtaba Khamenei, after becoming Iran's new Supreme Leader, also issued a statement. Regarding that waterway, Khamenei said, "The weapon of closing the Strait of Hormuz must certainly be used."

The purpose of the war against Iran

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said the joint US-Israeli operation is crushing the Tehran-backed terrorist group Hezbollah in Iran and Lebanon.

"The aim of this war against Iran is to cripple its nuclear and missile programs, and to create conditions for the Iranian people that will lead to the overthrow of this regime," Netanyahu said at a televised media briefing.
