News Topical, Digital Desk : In Guntur, Andhra Pradesh, YSR Congress Party leader Ambati Rambabu abused the Chief Minister, sparking protests. Following a complaint, police arrested Rambabu from his home late Saturday night.

Meanwhile, ruling Telugu Desam Party (TDP) workers protested for several hours on the streets of Guntur and at Rambabu's house.

Telugu Desam Party workers vandalized the house of Ambati Rambabu and set vehicles on fire. The protest against Rambabu continued for several hours, demanding an apology from him.

Police arrested Rambabu

Guntur district Superintendent of Police (SP) Vakula Jindal said, "Rambabu has been arrested for making objectionable remarks against the Chief Minister." Rambabu was the Irrigation Minister in the YSRCP government.

The Jagan Mohan Reddy-led YSRCP alleged that Rambabu was facing a threat to his life. He was attacked by TDP supporters.

YSRCP complains to DGP

Following the deadly attack on Ambati Rambabu, the YSR Congress Party wrote a letter to the Director General of Police (DGP). MLC Lalla Appireddy, the party's general secretary and central office in-charge, said, "This attack was a deliberate conspiracy to intimidate voices that question the government."

The party says the incident shows how unsafe the state has become. YSRCP supporters have criticized the police for not taking immediate action.
