Doctor suggests healthy food combinations

In a video shared on Instagram, she wrote that if you often feel bloated, tired, or lethargic, both your stomach and liver may need help, and it starts with the food combinations in your diet. She also shared five food combinations that can improve both stomach and liver health. Let's learn more about them.

Apples and Peanut Butter

Dr. Sethi recommends eating apples with peanut butter. Explaining why, he says the fiber in the fruit and the healthy fats in peanut butter help stabilize blood sugar and keep you feeling full longer.

Turmeric and black pepper

Turmeric and black pepper have been a part of Indian kitchens for centuries, helping to address a variety of health issues. The doctor explained that when consumed together, the piperine in black pepper increases the absorption of curcumin in turmeric by 2000%. Curcumin boosts immunity and is being studied for its potential in cancer treatment.

Tomatoes and Olive Oil

While discussing food combinations beneficial for the gut and liver, Dr. Sethi mentioned tomatoes and olive oil. He said to eat tomatoes with olive oil, as the healthy fat increases the absorption of lycopene, which is beneficial for heart and skin health.

Yogurt and berries

Additionally, Dr. Sethi recommends eating yogurt with berries, as the probiotics and polyphenols together help boost your gut microbiome.

Spinach and Lemon Juice

Eating spinach with lemon juice increases the absorption of iron from the plant due to the vitamin C present in the citrus fruit.
