New Delhi. The only effort to reduce the growing tension between Russia and Ukraine is being made at the level of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi. PM Modi returned from his Ukraine visit three days ago (Saturday-24 August) and has so far held talks with the Presidents of America and Russia regarding the situation there. On Tuesday, Modi had a long telephone conversation with Russian President Vladimir Putin in which he informed him about his visit to Ukraine and also expressed India's commitment to end the Ukraine dispute and establish peace in the entire region. PM Modi had a conversation with Biden late on Monday night.

The situation in Ukraine was also a big issue in this. Later, Biden praised Modi for giving a message of peace there and taking steps to provide help to Ukraine on humanitarian grounds. Right now the situation of war between Russia and Ukraine is reported to be getting more terrible. Just a day ago, Russia attacked more than half of Ukraine's area with 200 missiles.

PM Modi is continuously talking

Some of Ukraine's power plants and many of its important infrastructure facilities have been destroyed. Ukraine is also preparing for retaliation. Despite the worsening of the situation, no efforts are being made by multinational agencies or any other country to establish peace. The situation is such that the Indian PM is the only global leader who is in touch with both sides and is constantly communicating.

Next peace talks will be held in India- Ukrainian President

Ukraine is trying to call another meeting to hold peace talks between its friendly and supportive countries, but there is uncertainty about it. The President of Ukraine has said that he wants the next peace talks to be held in India. This was said by President Volodymyr Zelensky to Indian PM Narendra Modi who visited there last Friday (23 August). In this meeting, Modi had said that he should sit with the President of Russia and talk to find a way to peace. Modi had also said that he is personally ready to help in every possible way to find a peaceful solution to the Ukraine dispute. The Ministry of External Affairs has informed that after returning from his visit to Russia in July 2024, PM Modi has spoken to Russian President Putin over the telephone.

Is there any hope for the war to end?

The two leaders discussed further strengthening the special strategic partnership between India and Russia. There was an exchange of views on regional and global issues. The current Ukraine dispute was also discussed between the two. The Indian PM gave information about his Ukraine visit. He described dialogue and diplomacy as very important for establishing peace and emphasized on serious and practical discussions for this. In such a situation, speculations are being made that the situation between Ukraine and Russia may soon become normal, but no claim can be made about it right now.

PM Modi will visit Russia 

This has been additionally stated in the information released by the Russian government. PM Modi will visit the Russian city of Kazan to attend the BRICS summit to be held in October 2024. On the other hand, US President Joe Biden has written on the social media site X, talked to PM Modi about his recent visit to Poland and Ukraine and praised him for providing humanitarian assistance and giving a message of peace in support of Ukraine.
