Peshawar: Twelve militants and six security personnel were killed in two encounters in Pakistan's Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province. The encounters took place in North and South Waziristan on Thursday and Friday, the army's media wing Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) said.
On Thursday, security forces killed seven terrorists who were infiltrating the Pakistan-Afghanistan border. Pakistan has officially declared Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) as Fitna al-Khawarij. The second incident took place in Ladha in South Waziristan district.
Five terrorists killed
A group of terrorists attacked the security forces' checkpoint and the soldiers killed all five terrorists. However, six security personnel died in the encounter here.
