News Topical, Digital Desk : Former Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan is in good health, but he is being mentally harassed. This information was provided by Imran's sister, Dr. Uzma Khan, after meeting the former Prime Minister in Adiala Jail. This is the first time Imran has met with a close relative in over a month.
Earlier, the jail administration had banned visits to Imran Khan. This raised concerns about his well-being, and his supporters took to the streets to express their anger. After a large number of supporters of Imran Khan's party, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), gathered outside Adiala Jail in Rawalpindi, the government allowed Dr. Uzma Khan to meet him.
Imran Khan is mentally disturbed in jail
During a 20-minute meeting on Tuesday evening, the sister found her 73-year-old brother physically fit but mentally disturbed. After the meeting, Uzma Khan said, "Thank God Imran Khan is in good health, but he is being mentally harassed. He has been kept in a dungeon." Uzma expressed her displeasure over this.
It was reported that the former Prime Minister is not allowed to speak to anyone. Imran has been in jail since August 2023 on various charges. Last week, concerns arose about the former Prime Minister's health after his elder sister was not allowed to meet him in jail. Following this, many of his supporters and sons took to the streets to protest against the prison administration and the government.
Clashes broke out between PTI supporters and security forces at several locations. Authorities imposed curfews in Rawalpindi and Islamabad to prevent public gatherings, but these restrictions had no effect. Finally, on Tuesday, the Shahbaz Sharif government allowed Imran Khan's sister to visit him in jail, prompting calm among Imran Khan supporters.
