For the first time in 30 years, an Indian PM visited Ukraine

Let us tell you that this will be the first visit of any Indian Prime Minister to Ukraine in more than 30 years. The Ministry of External Affairs gave this information on Monday. The Ministry of External Affairs also revealed that Prime Minister Modi will spend seven hours in Kiev. Currently, PM Modi is in Poland.

How will PM Modi go to Ukraine?

Now the question is that in war-torn Ukraine, where airports are closed on a large scale, travelling by road can be risky. In such a situation, how will PM Modi reach Ukraine? The answer is - by train.

PM Modi will travel from Poland to Kiev via a specially designed luxury train ( Rail Force One ). Let us tell you that many big leaders of the world have travelled to Ukraine via this train. This includes US President Joe Biden, French President Emmanuel Macron and German Chancellor Olof Scholz.

Apart from Biden, more than 200 foreign diplomatic missions have used this train service so far to reach war-torn Ukraine. These include former British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni.

In how many hours will PM Modi reach Ukraine

PM Modi's visit to Kyiv will involve a 20-hour rail journey during which he will travel on the overnight Rail Force One train. The specially designed high-security train offers a comfortable journey and is packed with luxurious amenities, executive-level work and leisure facilities. 

'Rail Force One'

  • According to media reports, the interior of 'Rail Force One' is extremely safe. 
  • It has wood-panelled cabins equipped with everything needed for work and leisure.
  • Its amenities include a large long table for meetings, a plush sofa, a wall-mounted TV, and comfortable sleeping arrangements.
  • These luxurious trains were built in 2014 for tourists visiting Crimea.
  • However, after the Russian occupation, these were repurposed to safely transport world leaders and VIPs across the war-torn country.
  • This train is not run on electric engines but on diesel engines.
