(Maldives). Maldives Foreign Minister Moosa Jameel and External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar will soon inaugurate the handover ceremony of the Reclamation and Coast Protection Project and the 4-lane Detour Link road project.

Maldives Foreign Minister welcomed Jaishankar in Addu city on Sunday. Moosa Zameer told X that both these projects have been facilitated by the Indian government under the LoC of Exim Bank. Further, he said that these projects will contribute to the development and prosperity of the people of Addu city.

The program for handing over the project will be done soon 

Musa Zameer said in a post on X, "Glad to welcome Foreign Minister Dr. Jaishankar to Addu city. We will soon start the handover ceremony of the Reclamation and Coast Protection Project and the inauguration of the 4-lane Detour Link Road Project. Both projects have been facilitated by the Government of India under the LoC of EXIM Bank. These projects will contribute to the development and prosperity of the people of Addu city."

'India has always supported Maldives whenever needed'

Earlier on Saturday, Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP) President Abdullah Shahid met External Affairs Minister Jaishankar during his visit to Male and expressed confidence that India will always be the first country to help Maldives whenever needed. Shahid acknowledged the economic and diplomatic setbacks caused by the anti-India stance of the previous government and welcomed the current shift towards better relations.

'Maldives-India relations have always been full of mutual respect'

The MDP also issued a statement mentioning various projects funded by India. The statement said, 'Maldives-India relations have always been based on the principles of mutual respect, respect for international law, territorial integrity, shared desire for regional security and an open and peaceful Indian Ocean.'
