Kathmandu: Nepal authorities on Thursday recovered the black box of the crashed plane and handed it over to the investigation committee, a day after 18 people, including a four-year-old child, were killed and the pilot seriously injured in the tragic accident on Wednesday. Civil Aviation Authority's deputy director general Hansraj Pandey said the black box of the crashed plane has been found and handed over to the constituted investigation team for necessary action.
The investigation committee headed by former Director General of Civil Aviation Authority Ratishchandra Lal includes four other experts. This committee will submit its report within 45 days. There were 19 people on board the Bombardier CRJ-200 aircraft of Saurya Airlines going to Pokhara.
The plane caught fire after takeoff
The plane crashed and caught fire shortly after taking off from Tribhuvan International Airport on Wednesday. The dead in the accident included two crew members, airline technical staff and three members of a family, including a four-year-old child.
