New Delhi: The Canadian government has taken a decision that will increase the problems of the Indian people living there. Justin Trudeau announced on Monday that the number of foreigners doing temporary jobs in Canada will be reduced. This decision will have a direct impact on the Indian youth working there. A large number of Indian students work there to earn their livelihood.

The number of temporary foreign workers will be reduced: PM Trudeau

PM Justin Trudeau wrote on the social media platform X, 'We are reducing the number of low-paid temporary foreign workers in Canada. The country's labor market has changed a lot. Now the time has come for our companies to give more and more jobs to Canadian workers and youth.'

There are millions of Indians in Canada

According to the report, the number of Indians in Canada is expected to reach 20 lakh by the end of August 2024. In the year 2022, 118,095 Indians have become permanent residents in Canada. At the same time, 59,503 people became Canadian citizens. In the first quarter of 2024, Canada admitted 37,915 new Indian permanent residents, which is 8,175 less than the first quarter of 2023.

Pro-Khalistan Canada increased India's tension

Most of the overseas Indians in Canada are Sikhs, who work in small businesses and companies there. On one hand, the Trudeau government has been advocating for Khalistan supporters, on the other hand, this decision is going to increase India's worries even more. Let us tell you that a few days ago, the BAPS Swaminarayan temple in Edmonton was vandalized amid the ongoing attacks on Hindu places of worship in Canada.

Hindu American Foundation said that anti-India slogans were written on BAPS Swaminarayan temple early in the morning. Also, Indian-origin Canadian MP Chandra Arya was attacked. Khalistani supporters are being accused of this incident.
