Iran's President Masoud Pezeshkian has said that Israel is trying to start a big war in West Asia. It wants Iran to somehow get involved in the war. But Iran does not want war. He said that we do not want to be the cause of instability in the Middle East because its results will not be good.
The risk of a major war is rising
Speaking to the media at the United Nations, Pezeshkian said that his country does not want attacks in the Gaza Strip and Lebanon either, but Israel has been attacking and harming civilians there for the past one year. This is increasing tension in the region and the danger of a major war is also increasing.
Masoud Pezeshkian was elected President of Iran in July. Pezeshkian accused the international community of keeping silent about Israel's attacks in Gaza.
Israel begins intense attacks on Hezbollah
Pezeshkian's statement comes as Israel has launched intense attacks to destroy Hezbollah targets in Lebanon. Gaza ceasefire efforts have reached a deadlock after months of faltering talks brokered by Qatar, Egypt and the United States.
