News Topical, Digital Desk : Do you get tired quickly or do you not feel agile even after resting? If yes, then it is possible that you have anemia. This problem is more common in women than men (Anemia in Women). Actually, due to lack of iron in the body, hemoglobin decreases (Signs of Low Hemoglobin), which is called anemia. This condition is commonly called blood deficiency. Hemoglobin is a protein present in red blood cells, which takes oxygen from the lungs and transports it to other parts of the body.

However, when the level of hemoglobin in the body falls below normal, the body does not get enough oxygen, due to which many problems start occurring. However, with the help of some symptoms (Low Hemoglobin Symptoms), it can be identified in time. Let us know what symptoms are seen when hemoglobin is low in the body.

Symptoms of low hemoglobin

  • Fatigue and weakness- Due to lack of hemoglobin, the cells present in the body do not get enough oxygen, due to which the person feels tired very quickly . Due to this, weakness starts to be felt even after doing a little work.
  • Shortness of breath- Lack of oxygen can cause shortness of breath, especially when climbing stairs or doing even a little physical work. This happens because the lungs have to work harder to supply oxygen to the body.
  • Yellowing of the skin- Due to lack of hemoglobin, the skin, nails and the inside of the eyes start appearing yellow. Actually, hemoglobin gives red color to the blood. But due to its deficiency, the skin and nails start appearing yellow.
  • Dizziness or headache- Problems like dizziness, headache or fainting can occur due to lack of sufficient oxygen reaching the brain. So if you often have a headache or feel dizzy, it could be a sign of low hemoglobin.
  • Increase in heart beat- To compensate for the lack of oxygen in the body, the heart as well as the lungs have to work harder. Due to this the heart beat (Heart Rate) increases.
  • Cold hands and feet- Due to poor blood circulation in the body, hands and feet remain cold and tingling sensation can be felt in them. If your hands and feet are always cold, then this can be a sign of a problem.
  • Hair loss and weakening of nails- Hair loss and brittle or thinning of nails are the most common problems caused by iron deficiency in the body. Therefore, if your hair is falling more than normal , then this can also be a symptom of low hemoglobin.
