The first phase has ended- Election Commission
The Election Commission said that there are 4.59% or 36 lakh voters in Bihar who have either permanently shifted or have not been physically found. At the same time, the names of 0.89% or 7 lakh people were found to be duplicate, which were registered at more than one place. The Election Commission said on Sunday (27 July 2025) that the first phase has ended.
why are you making a ruckus
According to the commission, enumeration forms of 1.2 lakh voters have not been received yet. The commission said, "When a whole month from August 1 to September 1 is available to find out any wrong inclusion or wrong exclusion of any name, then why are they creating so much ruckus now? Why did they (political parties) not ask their 1.6 lakh BLAs to submit claims and objections from August 1 to September 1?"
Regarding the uproar, the Commission said, "Why are some people trying to create the impression that the draft list is the final list, when it is not so. As per the SIR orders?" Regarding those who were not found at their addresses, the Election Commission said, "These people have either become voters in other states or union territories or were present there."
