Hema Malini revealed in her biography
In fact, Dimple Kapadia used to come to the sets with Rajesh Khanna, after which their friendship became even stronger. Dimple and Hema had a deep friendship
Dimple met Hema Malini when she was a teenager. Hema Malini was nine years older than her. Dimple Kapadia was only 16 when she married Rajesh Khanna. In her biography, Hema recalled that she had a soft spot for Dimple and considered her like a younger sister.
Recalling the moment when Dimple came to the sets after her marriage, Hema said, "The girl was wrapped in a big saree, had a bun and bangles. Then she also had a child."
Dimple used to drink alcohol while sitting alone
Hema Malini had said that Dimple was very lonely at that time. In her biography, she wrote, "She would sit and smoke cigarettes and drink alcohol at outdoor locations, but I never felt that this was wrong or indecent. I know she was going through a lot of stress and was a very lonely girl. Rajesh would shoot all day and in the evening, he would sit with his friends, talking and drinking until late at night. There was no one with him."
What did Dimple say to Hema in anger?
In the same book, Dimple recalled that she thought Dharmendra would never marry Hema. "Look, I was so short-tempered in those days that I would get very upset about her problems. I would tell her, 'This man (Dharmendra) will never marry you. You better get up and do something,'" Dimple said.
