News Topical, Digital Desk : Kashi is known as the city of scholars. People from all over the country come here to study Sanskrit and experience the Vedas as a living tradition. Devvrat Mahesh, a resident of Maharashtra, has achieved something that has not only inspired the current generation to connect with the eternal Indian tradition but has also impressed Prime Minister Narendra Modi himself.

Devvrat achieved the feat in 50 days

19-year-old Devvrat Mahesh Rekhe completed the "Dandakarma Parayanam," a 2,000-mantra section of the Shukla Yajurveda's Madhyandina branch, without interruption, over 50 days. Originally from Maharashtra, Devvrat Mahesh achieved this feat at the Sangveda Vidyalaya School in Ramghat, Varanasi.

The family of the late Pandit Laxmikant Dixit, who served as the chief priest at the Ayodhya Ram Temple consecration ceremony and is well-versed in Maharashtra's ancient heritage and traditions, also says that Devvrat has certainly achieved this feat at a very young age, which requires a significant period of time. This is no small feat, and he has proven his immense dedication to the Indian Sanatan tradition. The Sangveda Vidyalaya is run by scholar Pandit Ganeshwar Shastri Dravid, Prime Minister Modi's 2024 Lok Sabha election proposer.

Prime Minister Modi and CM Yogi extended their best wishes

Prime Minister Narendra Modi also tweeted his congratulations to Mahesh. He said that Devvrat's achievement will serve as an inspiration for generations to come. Expressing his happiness, he saluted Devvrat's family, saints, sages, scholars, and all the organizations across the country who supported his austerity.

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath also responded to this . Sharing a video on the social media site X, he wrote that the unprecedented achievement achieved by Devvrat Mahesh Rekhe, a 19-year-old young Vedic practitioner from Maharashtra, by memorizing 2,000 Vedic mantras through unparalleled practice and remarkable memory, is a new beacon of inspiration for the entire spiritual world. Completing the "Dandakarma Parayanam" of the Madhyandina branch of the Shukla Yajurveda for 50 days with uninterrupted, pure, and complete discipline is a renaissance of the glory of our ancient guru tradition.

The CM wrote, "It is a matter of special pride for me that this Vedic ritual was performed on the divine land of holy Kashi. My heartfelt congratulations to his family, acharyas, saints, and all the institutions whose support made this penance successful. Devvrat, heartfelt congratulations to you, with the hope that this achievement may become a beacon of inspiration for generations to come."
