Keeping a close eye on all possible situations
Officials said that on Saturday night, Superintendent of Police (City) Manush Pareek led the operation to arrest those involved in the stone-pelting and firing. Officials said that the police are rigorously interrogating those taken into custody. They added that the police administration is currently closely monitoring all possible circumstances.
Officials said the massive crackdown followed a stern warning from Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath that those inciting violence in the name of faith would face serious consequences.
Officials said Raza and seven other co-accused were produced in court on Saturday and remanded in judicial custody for 14 days. Raza was later sent to Fatehgarh Central Jail.
