Why was the principal reappointed: Court

Hearing the petitions, a division bench headed by Chief Justice TS Sivagnanam found that there was "something lacking" in the investigation and asked if the statement of the then principal of the medical college, Sandeep Ghosh, was recorded, to which the state counsel argued. However, the court did not seem satisfied with the lawyer's argument.

The court asked why the principal was reappointed just hours after he resigned. The Calcutta High Court has ordered Principal Dr. Sandeep Ghosh to go on long leave.

High court asked questions on re-appointment of principal

The Chief Justice said in the court today that how can Principal Sandip Ghosh, who resigned taking moral responsibility, be appointed as the principal again? The court also mentioned that he may be in an administrative position but he should have been questioned first.

Information should be collected from the principal: Court

The court also asked the state's lawyer - why are you protecting him. Record his statement. Let him tell whatever he knows. The Chief Justice's division bench directed to file the case diary of the case before the court at 1 pm today. The court has asked him to submit a leave application by 3 pm today or the court will pass an order asking him to step down.

The public prosecutor has been asked to present the principal's resignation and appointment letter. The court says that it needs to be seen what he has written in his resignation.
