
Severe heat has once again started showing its effect in North, Central and West India. Due to the scorching heat, it has become difficult for people to get out of their homes. At the same time, rain, thunderstorms and storms are continuing in some states. The Meteorological Department has warned of heat wave and sharp increase in temperature for the next five days in many states including Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, Rajasthan, Gujarat and Madhya Pradesh. According to the Meteorological Department, Western Disturbance is expected to become active from April 16, i.e. today, due to which there is a possibility of rain and strong winds at some places in North-West India.
Heat wave will prevail in these states
According to the Meteorological Department, Rajasthan will remain hot till 19 April. Severe heat may also occur during 16-18 April. Gujarat is also likely to experience heat wave on 16 and 17 April; Punjab, Haryana and western Madhya Pradesh are also likely to experience heat wave during 16-18 April. Heat wave may occur at isolated places in western Rajasthan during 16-18 April and in eastern Rajasthan on 17-18 April.
How will the weather be in Delhi today
The heat has also increased in Delhi-NCR. On April 16, the day is expected to start with mainly clear skies in Delhi, which will become partly cloudy by the evening. Heat wave is expected in different areas of Delhi-NCR. The maximum temperature will be between 40 to 42 degrees Celsius and the minimum temperature will be between 23 to 25 degrees Celsius.
In these states, hail will fall along with rain
Bihar-Jharkhand, West Bengal, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, Assam and Meghalaya may receive rain till April 17. According to the Meteorological Department, due to the activation of Western Disturbance in the west of the Himalayan region, there will be heavy rain at some places. There is a possibility of rain and hailstorm in Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh on April 18. There is also a possibility of hailstorm in Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand on April 18 and 19. There is a possibility of sporadic dust storms in western Rajasthan on April 16 and in eastern Rajasthan on April 17.
Scattered to fairly widespread light-moderate rainfall with thunderstorms, lightning and gusty winds (speed reaching 30-40 kmph) is very likely over Tamil Nadu, Puducherry & Karaikal, Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Yanam, Rayalaseema, Telangana and Karnataka during next 5 days. Scattered to moderate rainfall with thunderstorms, lightning and gusty winds (speed reaching 40-50 kmph) is very likely over Kerala and Mahe during 17th April.
