
News Topical, Digital Desk : Vodafone Idea on Thursday informed that Chief Operating Officer (COO) Abhijit Kishore has been appointed as the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the company. Abhijit Kishore will replace Akshay Mundhra as the CEO of the company, whose term is going to end on August 18. The company said in an exchange filing that Kishore will hold the post for three years from August 19, 2025.
The company said that Abhijit Kishore has been appointed as the CEO and Chief Managing Officer of the company. Akshay Mundhra was appointed as the CEO of the company for three years in August 2022. He replaced Ravinder Takkar as CEO in the cash-strapped telecom company.
Who is Abhijit Kishore Abhijit Kishore has been associated with the company since March 2015 and has held several senior leadership positions in the company at the circle operations and corporate level. Prior to the post of COO, Kishore was the Chief Enterprise Business Officer. He also served as Circle Business Head in Gujarat and Kerala Circles, where he launched the first 4G network in India. The company said that Kishore has over 27 years of experience in the Indian telecom industry. How were the quarterly results of the company The company's loss in the June quarter came down to Rs 6608 crore in this quarter, from Rs 7166 crore in the previous quarter (Q4). However, the company's loss has increased on an annual basis, which was at Rs 6,432 crore in this quarter last year. The company's income increased by 0.1 percent to Rs 11022 crore, which was at Rs 11013 crore in the previous quarter (Q4). Vodafone Idea's EBITDA fell by 1 percent to Rs 4612 crore, which was Rs 4659.7 crore in the previous quarter.
