Several Bollywood celebrities are expected to attend the event. Meanwhile, actress Vidya Balan recalled a funny incident that happened to her during Enrique's concert.
The first film was found in a live concert
Actress Vidya Balan revealed that she got the offer for her first film 20 years ago at Enrique's live show. Vidya revealed this in an interview with Bombay Times. Recalling the incident, Vidya Balan said, “My friend Pavitra and I were at Enrique's concert in Mumbai in 2004 when director Pradeep Sarkar called me to offer me the role in the film Parineeta.”
Vidya Balan's phone was switched off
She further added, "We were very close to the stage and trying to get closer. My phone was off, and Enrique had left the stage in the middle of the song. We were hoping that by the time he came back to perform, we would be ahead. I was thinking that he would pull me on stage too."
Vidya started trembling after hearing the news.
Pradeep couldn't call me because my phone was switched off, so he called my friend Pavitra and asked where Vidya was. Pavitra handed me the phone. Pradeep told me to go to a quiet place so that Vidhu Vinod Chopra could talk to me. Vidya said, "Vidhu Vinod Chopra said to me, 'You are my Parineeta,' and by then Enrique had returned to the stage and sang the song Hero. However, this song has always been special for me. As soon as I got this news, tears started flowing from my eyes. My hands and legs were trembling. This is one of the most special moments of my life."
Mumbaikars and fans across India are excited about Enrique Iglesias' return to Mumbai after more than two decades. The global pop sensation is set to perform at the MMRDA Grounds in Bandra Kurla Complex.
