
Kasganj News: The investigation into the gang rape case in Kasganj district continued on Tuesday, and the teenage victim recorded her statement before a magistrate in court. A police officer gave this information.
Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP) Rajesh Kumar Bharti said that now property attachment proceedings will be initiated against the two absconding accused under sections 82 and 83 of the Code of Criminal Procedure (CrPC).
Blood samples of the eight accused arrested on Monday were taken at the district hospital for DNA testing. He said the victim has reportedly identified all the eight persons, and their DNA samples have been sent for testing.
The administration has provided financial assistance to the victim
and her family and has increased their security. The ASP said that District Magistrate Medha Rupam and Superintendent of Police Ankita Sharma visited the victim's house, handed over a cheque of Rs 5 lakh as ex-gratia and directed to install CCTV cameras around the house.
Besides, two armed guards, two women constables and five other security personnel have been deployed at the victim's house for round-the-clock security, he said.
"The officers also shared their personal contact numbers with the family to ensure direct contact in case of emergency," the ASP said.
The district police public relation officers (PROs) denied providing security to the teenage boy. However, ASP Rajesh Bharti said that the youth is in touch with the police and his security is being monitored.
It is said that this teenager is the victim's fiancé, who was with the victim at the time of the incident. According to the PRO, guard duty has been implemented in two shifts for the security of the victim's residence, in which five personnel have been appointed per shift.
FIR lodged on April 12
He said the authorities have also arranged for the security of key witnesses. He said police teams are continuing the search operation to trace the absconding accused and the process of confiscating the property is expected to begin soon.
Eight people have been arrested for allegedly raping a 16-year-old girl here on April 10. According to the police, the girl had gone with her 17-year-old fiancé to get her ration card made. At around 2.30 pm, when she was sitting with her fiancé near the canal after returning from the DSO office, Yogesh, Ajay and seven-eight unidentified men came there and took both of them to the bushes.
In her complaint, the victim alleged that three people raped the girl, others took away her gold earrings and Rs 5,000 in cash and also forcibly transferred Rs 5,000 from her fiancé's mobile through UPI. An FIR was lodged in this case on April 12.
