Kannauj: A major accident took place on Ghaziabad Kanpur Green Field Highway on Friday morning. A mini truck collided directly with a parked truck. Four people died in this accident, while one person was seriously injured.
Near Junedpur village of Gursahaiganj Kotwali area on Friday morning around 7 o'clock, the driver going from Delhi to Kanpur parked his truck on the service road. After this, he slept in the cabin itself.
On Friday early morning, a mini truck coming from behind collided with a parked truck. Four people travelling in the mini truck died. One youth was injured. There was chaos at the spot after the accident.
The truck had run out of diesel
On Friday, a truck carrying leather was going from Punjab to Kolkata at around 6 am near Junaidpur cut under Majhpurwa police post of Kotwali Gurusahayganj. Vehicle owner Sukhwant Singh's nephew Jaswinder Singh, son of Bayant Singh was also in the vehicle.
Due to the diesel running out in the container at the cut, the driver Jagdish Singh, son of Boota Singh, resident of village Sarawan, police station Kotkapura, district Faridkot, Punjab had parked the vehicle on the service road and was enquiring about nearby petrol pumps from passersby.
Meanwhile, a DCM coming from behind at a high speed rammed into the container due to the driver dozing off. Due to which, four out of the five people travelling in the DCM died on the spot. One was seriously injured.
On receiving information about the incident, Gurusahayaganj Kotwali in-charge Alok Dubey, Majhpurwa outpost in-charge Shyam Pal Singh, along with their companions, reached the spot and with the help of villagers and highway workers, the people trapped in the DCM cabin were taken out with the help of a crane and sent to the district hospital and the highway route was made operational.
CO Sadar Kamlesh Kumar reached the spot, took information about the incident and gave necessary instructions to his subordinates.
