Gorakhpur: Shahpur police arrested two accused of a gang who used to loot goods worth lakhs of rupees by giving fake truck numbers on Wednesday. Hardoi police also came chasing one of them. Police presented one of the accused in the court and sent him to jail.

The Hardoi police has taken the second accused with them on warrant B. The truck used in the fraud was also recovered from the accused, which had the number plate of a truck parked in a garage in Varanasi.

The accused were identified as Dinesh Kumar Rai, a resident of Barki Sarempur in the Industrial Police Station area of ​​Buxar district of Bihar and Saqib, a resident of Pateri in Kaimur district. Bajrangilal, a resident of Janakpur Maurya Tola in Campierganj, filed a case in Shahpur police station.

He told the police that he had sent a truck full of flour worth Rs. 9 lakhs from a transport company to Guwahati, where it did not reach. The police started investigation and caught the accused. Inspector Jayant Singh said that during interrogation of the accused, it was found that all of them take online booking from the transport company.

For this they use the number of other trucks and do not give their own number. When the police investigate, they are not caught because the number is fake. They have committed many such incidents. Gorakhpur police also reached Varanasi while investigating on the basis of the number.

There it was found that the number was parked in the garage for several days to be converted into a truck. After this, the police reached the accused with the help of mobile number and CCTV cameras and arrested them. A case is also registered against the accused Saqib in Hardoi. Therefore, Hardoi police took him along on warrant B.

SP City Krishna Kumar Bishnoi said that Shahpur police has arrested two members of the gang involved in cheating through online booking. One accused was taken away by Hardoi police, while the other accused was sent to jail by Shahpur police. Transporters should be cautious during booking. Booking should not be done without checking. Be it online or offline.
