Kunwargaon: As part of the ongoing crackdown against liquor mafia and cow smugglers, property worth Rs 23.39 lakh belonging to three accused under the Gangster Act was seized on Friday. In this, the houses of the liquor mafia brothers located in Bangawa were seized. Their estimated value was Rs 18.45 lakh.
The house of the cow smuggler in Banei was also confiscated. The value of his property was estimated to be Rs 4.94 lakh. Before the confiscation action, a public announcement was made in both the villages. After this, notices were passed outside their houses.
In 2019, he was caught making illicit liquor.
Two real brothers, Triveni and Rammurti, residents of the village Bangawan of Kunwargaon police station area, had earned property by making and selling illicit liquor illegally. Both of them were caught selling illicit liquor in the year 2019. Several cases were registered against both of them. Kunwargaon police station took action against both of them under the Gangster Act in the year 2020. The police had assessed the property of both the accused and, after the SSP's approval, had sought permission from the DM to confiscate the property.
After permission was given by DM Nidhi Srivastava, Naib Tehsildar Sadar Nirankar Singh, SHO Ramendra Singh reached the village with the police force on Friday. An announcement was made in the village in the presence of the village head. Police seized Triveni's property worth Rs 11.92 lakh and Ram Murti's property worth Rs 6.53 lakh. Due to this, his property i.e. house is being confiscated. Police seized his house worth Rs 4.94 lakh.
