US: Who was Indian-origin Nikita Godishala? Her body was found in her ex-boyfriend's home.

News Topical, Digital Desk : The discovery of the body of 27-year-old Indian-origin woman Nikita Godisha in Maryland, USA, has caused a stir. Nikita's body bore stab wounds. On January 2nd, Nikita's former boyfriend, Arjun Sharma, filed a missing person report.

Arjun stated in his complaint that he last saw Nikita on New Year's Eve at his apartment in Maryland. After filing the complaint, Arjun Sharma returned to India. Nikita's body was recovered from his home on January 3rd.

Police registered a case

According to US police, Arjun killed Nikita sometime after 7 pm on December 31. Police have filed a case of first and second degree murder against him.

What did the Indian Embassy say?

The Indian Embassy in the US shared a post on the matter and said, “The Indian Embassy is in touch with Nikita's family. We are trying to provide them all possible help. We are also cooperating in the investigation of the case in collaboration with local agencies.”

Who was Nikita Godisha?

Nikita was a Data and Strategy Analyst at Vaheda Health in Columbia, Maryland. She joined the company in February 2025 and within just one year, she received the "All In Award" for her outstanding performance.

Sharing this achievement on LinkedIn, Nikita wrote, “This title will keep reminding me of my responsibilities and goals. I am very excited for the future. I will enter 2026 with this progress.”

Went to America in 2021

Prior to joining Vheda Health, Nikita worked as a Technical Advisor. She was a part of the University of Maryland from June 2022 to May 2023. Nikita also interned as a Clinical Pharmacist at Krishna Institute of Medical Sciences (KIMS) Hospital and was a Clinical Data Specialist for approximately two years.

Nikita went to the United States to pursue a master's degree after completing her studies at Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University from June 2015 to September 2021. Nikita was fluent in English, Hindi, and Telugu.
