News Topical, Digital Desk : The Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) has intensified its preparations for the 2027 Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections. BSP supremo Mayawati held a meeting with UP state and district officials at the party office in Lucknow on Tuesday (March 31). The meeting reviewed the organization's grassroots and financial strength and election preparations. During the meeting, former Chief Minister Mayawati reiterated her commitment to not giving tickets to criminals in the upcoming assembly elections.

Meanwhile, BSP chief Mayawati stated that the public is frustrated with the government's indifference and has high hopes for the BSP. She instructed party workers to work with complete dedication and hard work. The BSP chief described livelihood, inflation, and unemployment as major problems facing the state. She emphasized the need for "self-reliance" to be implemented on the ground, not just a slogan. Mayawati stated that development should be for the benefit of all, not limited to a few. She also announced a grand celebration of Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar's birth anniversary on April 14th and criticized the central and state governments' policies on reservations and the rights of weaker sections.

Mayawati said that the country is unable to achieve universal, pro-poor, and employment-oriented development. How can the welfare of the nation, the state, and the wider public be achieved through development of only a handful of people in power? The country and Uttar Pradesh desperately need to focus on this and implement Bahujan-friendly development.

Mayawati said that the already complex problem of livelihood in Uttar Pradesh is now becoming even more acute, while governments, in most cases, still seek to satisfy people's hunger and thirst with rhetoric and promises. This is extremely sad. Self-reliance is not just a slogan; it needs to be transformed into reality with complete urgency and honesty. Only then will the lives of Bahujans in the country improve by providing work to every hand. Serious consideration is also needed to address whether the country can become self-reliant while relying so heavily on the private sector.
