News Topical, Digital Desk : It's said that government files never die, but in Mahoba, Uttar Pradesh, things have gone too far. Here, the Child Development Department has issued a notice to a female employee who has been dead for almost 18 months. The case is from Naipura village in the Panwari development block, where the department has sought an explanation from a deceased assistant for not reporting to duty. This insensitivity and gross negligence has now created a stir in the entire district.

The man seen in the photo is Kishunlal, holding a photo of his deceased wife in one hand and her death certificate in the other. But amidst this grief, the department has rubbed salt into his wounds. The incident took place in Naipura village, Mahoba, where Parvati, an Anganwadi center assistant, died of illness on November 1, 2024.

The department gave an ultimatum to appear within two days.

The husband claims he submitted the death certificate to the department within eight days. However, 18 months later, a notice was issued, signed by Yasmin Jahan, the Child Development Project Officer at Panwadi. This notice accused the deceased, Parvati, of having found the center closed during an inspection. Furthermore, the department issued an ultimatum to the deceased, demanding she appear at the office within two days with her Hot-Cooked Scheme bills, vouchers, and records, or her service would be terminated.

The son of the deceased took a jibe

The deceased's son, Mahesh, taunted the system, saying that he would now take this notice to his mother in heaven and ask why she wasn't reporting to duty. Meanwhile, villagers and family members are now worried that someone else might have been pocketing honorarium in the deceased's name for the past 18 months. Did the department remain unaware of its employee's death for a year and a half? The family has now decided to complain to the District Magistrate.

However, the question arises: is it even possible to have such a significant discrepancy in government files, even in this era of Digital India? How did the responsible officials manage to issue a notice in the name of a deceased woman without even checking the records? Now it remains to be seen what action will be taken against these negligent department officials following this ugly scandal over someone's death.
