
News Topical, Digital Desk : Once again a painful case of suicide of a student has come to light in Greater Noida. Shanti Supriya, a 19-year-old B.Tech first year student living in Kendriya Vihar Colony of Thana Beta-2 area, committed suicide by hanging herself from a fan in her own house last night. The family immediately rushed her to the hospital, but the doctors declared her dead.
On behalf of Police Commissioner Laxmi Singh, the media in-charge informed that student Shanti Supriya, daughter of late Nirmal Kishore, hanged herself in her room. Her mother and brother, who were present at home, immediately took her down and took her to Yatharth Hospital, Greater Noida, but the doctors there declared her dead. The police have taken the body into custody and sent it for post-mortem and have started investigating the case.

Shanti Supriya had joined the first year of B.Tech in Amity University, Sector-125 Noida this year. She was brilliant in studies, but was going through mental stress in recent times. It is being told that her father Nirmal Kishore was working in the National Investigation Agency (NIA) and he died during the Covid period. The untimely death of the father had already given a deep shock to the family. Currently her mother is a doctor and is working in a hospital.
Police did not find any suicide note
At present, the police is investigating the reasons behind the student taking this step. The family members say that she was facing the pressure of studies and personal stress. However, no suicide note has been recovered so far.

This question has also arisen in the society that why the problem of mental stress and depression is increasing rapidly among the students pursuing higher education. The police has started investigating the post-mortem report and the student's mobile and other personal documents in the case. Only after the investigation will it be clear what were the real reasons behind the suicide.
