News Topical, Digital Desk : The United States has seized an oil tanker off the coast of Venezuela. US Attorney General Pamela Bondi shared a video showing US troops landing on the ship's deck from an aircraft, entering the ship's control area, and seizing it.

US President Trump praised American troops for this action. During an event at the White House, Trump said, “We just seized a tanker off the coast of Venezuela. This tanker is the largest ever seized.”

Trump, however, flatly refused to say who owned the tanker. When asked about the ship's oil, he said, "Well, I think we own it."

seizure warrant issued

Hours after Trump's statement, Attorney General Pam Bondi shared a video in a post on X, saying the government executed a seizure warrant on a tanker coming from Venezuela and Iran.

He said that today the Federal Bureau of Investigation, Homeland Security Investigations, and the United States Coast Guard, in cooperation with the Department of Defense, issued a warrant to seize a crude oil tanker used to carry banned oil from Venezuela and Iran.

America has banned this tanker

For several years, the oil tanker was banned by the United States for its involvement in an illegal oil shipping network that supported foreign terrorist organizations. The vessel was seized by US forces off the coast of Venezuela. An investigation by the Department of Homeland Security is underway to stop the transportation of the banned oil.
